Akouri Hosts Dinner for Ex-Labor Department Official; Names Sam Saad of Florida to Lebanese American Chamber of Commerce National Leadership Council
NOVI, MI - Lebanese American Chamber of Commerce Chairman & CEO John Akouri hosted a private dinner last night for his former Washington, DC colleague Samuel J. Saad III, Esq. The invitation-only reception was held at the posh new Mezza Mediterranean Grille of Novi, in the trendy northwest suburb of Metro Detroit. The endless feast of savory Lebanese cuisine was prepared by the talented chefs on staff at the Walid Khalife & Samir Salah owned establishment - a corporate partner of the Lebanese American Chamber of Commerce. Following the meal, Akouri then made the formal announcement naming the former Special Assistant to the US Solicitor of Labor to the Lebanese American Chamber of Commerce National Leadership Council. Akouri & Saad both served as advisors in Washington, DC during the Bush administration - Akouri on Capitol Hill and Saad at the Department of Labor. In 2006, Saad was one of the first-ever recipients of the Lebanese American Chamber of Commerce inaugural Golden Cedar Award, along with fellow honorees Racing Legend Bobby Rahal, and CNN's Octavia Nasr. Saad will join the nations most prominent and successful Americans of Lebanese descent as a member of the National Leadership Council, including its Chairman, US Ambassador Sam Zakhem of Denver, Colorado.
