Akouri Welcomes Announcement of Patriarchal Visit by Lebanese Maronite Cardinal Sfeir to the United States

(WASHINGTON DC)...Fmr. Capitol Hill Advisor John Akouri today issued a statement welcoming the announcement of another Patriarchal visit to the United States next month by His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir, Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East. Akouri first met the Lebanese Christian leader at the US Capitol in Washington, DC at a Congressional event in his honor in 2001. Cardinal Sfeir will spend nearly a week in the US and his visit will include stops in New York, Philadelphia and Houston. The Patriarch is also scheduled to meet with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and receive an honorary doctorate from Villanova University.
