Akouri to Boustany: "We Stand By Ready to Aid and Assist Our Fellow Americans in Louisiana"

(NEW ORLEANS, LA) - Councilman John Akouri today expressed his support to United States Representative Charles W. Boustany Jr., MD, (R-LA) as the 2008 Hurricane season is in full swing, and in the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav. In a phone call to Washington, DC today, Akouri said: "The Lebanese American Chamber of Commerce is at your service. We stand by ready to aid and assist our fellow Americans in Louisiana, in any way possible."
Akouri noted that the thoughts and prayers of the Chamber leadership are with those who are suffering in devastated areas of Louisiana and the surrounding region. He also offered any assistance that he and the Chamber may provide to ease the pain and help restore some semblance of life to residents who may be affected throughout this Hurricane season, from food and medicine to clothing and volunteers.
