(GREENWOOD, MS)...Frank G. Arcori, 49, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006. He was born Sept. 5, 1957, in Detroit. Mr. Arcori attended St. Juliana grade school and later Bishop Gallagher High School. He loved to play basketball and was even known to show his school spirit by leading the fans in a cheer or two. He also attended Wayne State University for three years.

He began his career with a small sandwich company called Little A's that he ran out of the back of the family store. He married his wife, Lamia Seman, on Sept. 7, 1980, at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Oak Park. Relatives said he was totally devoted to his children, never missing one of their events, in particular their sporting events. He was also very active in the parish life at St. Fabian Catholic Church.

He and one of his brothers bought their parents' grocery store in 1980. In 1983, he opened the first of his Vegas Food Centers. Those were followed in 1994 by Save-A-Lot grocery store. Later he owned and operated a Pet Supplies Plus. He also delved into Walgreen real estate and even into hotel development. He gained a reputation as an extremely loyal business partner and so many people sought him out as a savvy investor and partner. His last business endeavor was to assist Wireless Giant in becoming a national entity.

In addition to work, church and family life, he somehow found time to volunteer his services on the board of directors of Rose Hill, served as president of the Association of Food Dealers and was active in Deaf Can. He loved to play golf, especially with his son, and he also liked to relax with a game of spades and collect Mont Blanc pens.

Relatives said, "May we all take comfort in trusting that Frank is now our Guardian Angel."

He is survived by his wife, Lamia (nee Seman); children, Angela, Marisa, Frank Jr. and Leann; mother, Antoinette; siblings, Joseph and John (Tammy); mother-in-law, Hanni Seman and the Seman nieces and nephews as well as Michael, Joseph, Juliana and Valerie Arcori.
